Reports in Turkey are claiming that Blues boss Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the powerful Nigerian ace and has decided to attempt to solve his striker concerns by losing a bid for the player after being impressed by his form so far in the World Cup.
Emenike has helped the Nigeria team reach the knockout stages of the tournament, on the back of an excellent season at Fenerbahce, where he scored 12 goals and picked up nine assists.
The 27-year-old only linked up with the Istanbul based side last summer in a £10m deal from Russian giants Spartak Moscow and the Turks are thought to be happy to make a quick profit on his services.
Emenike recently admitted that he is desperate to ply his trade in the Premier League and could jump at the chance to make the move to west London in the coming weeks.
“I have always dreamed of playing in England,” he said.
“If I get the opportunity to play in England – I wouldn’t turn it down.”
