Chelsea To Make £3m Loss On Germany Midfielder

Classy international to return to his homeland after a disappointing two-year spell with the Blues.

Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt are preparing a £4m bid for Chelsea midfielder Marko Marin, according to the London Evening Standard.

Marin joined Chelsea in a £7m move from Werder Bremen two years ago, but he has been unable to force his way into the first team at Stamford Bridge, making just two Premier League starts.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Sevilla and a permanent exit now seems very likely, although the La Liga have decided against trying to keep him.

Marin made 18 league appearances for Sevilla, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

He also played 10 Europa League games, including featuring as a sub in the final, which saw Sevilla defeat Benfica 4-2 in a penalty shootout after 120 minutes of goalless football.

Marin has been capped 16 times by Germany at senior international level, but he has not played for Die Mannschaft since 2010.

His chances of getting back into the international fold in the near future are slim, but his hope of getting into Jose Mourinho’s side seem even slimmer.

Mourinho has a wealth of creative talent in Marin’s position, including the likes of Willian, Eden Hazard and Mohamed Salah.
