Liverpool ready to bid for Lyon striker.Liverpool are reportedly ready to meet the £10m asking price for impressive young Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette if Luis Suarez leaves the club this summer, according to the Chronicle.
With the Reds possibly set to pocket as much as £70m for star player Suarez after Barcelona stepped up their interest in bringing him to the Nou Camp next season, Brendan Rodgers should have plenty to spend on replacements, with Lacazette identified as one cheap option.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a superb campaign for Lyon in 2013/14, scoring 23 goals in all competitions as well as notching up seven assists, showing great ability to play either as the main centre-forward or out wide.
The Frenchman has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Everton in the past, and it is thought that Newcastle United are also among the leading candidates to sign him this summer, though they would be unable to compete financially with Liverpool.
The Magpies are also set to lose a key player upfront this summer as they fail to seal the permanent signing of loan star Loic Remy, but may now have to look elsewhere as Liverpool look likely to step up their interest in Lacazette.
