Rodgers insists he won’t ‘panic-buy’
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists he won’t rush to bring in new signings after a move for Loic Remy broke down, the Daily Mirror reports.
The Northern Irishman needs new faces upfront to replace the impact of departing star Luis Suarez, and a move for Remy looked like being all but completed before a surprise decision to pull the plug at the last minute.
Still, Rodgers insists he is happy to wait for new players to come in, saying: “There are certain areas where I want to bring in players, but they have to be the right type. There is money to spend but I won’t spend it for the sake of it. If that means I have to wait until January then that’s what I will do.”
