Former star questions Lovren deal
Former Liverpool star Mark Wright has questioned whether or not the club were right to spend so big on the signing of Lovren from Southampton, according to talkSPORT.
Wright agreed that his old side needed to strengthen at the back given their poor defensive record last season, but feels they may have over-estimated Lovren’s ability based on one good season in the Premier League.
“Dejan Lovren looks a decent enough player and if there is one position Liverpool needed to address [it’s centre-back],” he said. “For one good season £20m seems a heck of a lot of money.”
