Premier League giants keen to prize World Cup ace from PSG.
Liverpool and Chelsea are set to battle it out over the signature of Paris Saint Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to the Daily Star.
Reports have recently suggested that the Reds are preparing an £18m swoop for the Argentine international after hearing that the Ligue 1 champions would be willing to cash in on him in order to fund a move for Real Madrid ace Angel Di Maria.
The French champions need to offload players to ensure that their proposed £63m move for Di Maria does not exceed Financial Fair Play regulations.
The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer, after his nine goals, which came mostly from the wing, helped the Parisians clock up their second consecutive Ligue 1 title.
However, he has also been on the radar of Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, and the Blues are said to be keeping an eye on his situation closely.
Mourinho is thought to have been chasing Lavezzi for the past three years, and will not want to give up the chase without a fight.
