Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that wantaway midfielder Sami Khedira is in fact happy at the club, but he has admitted that winger Angel di Maria is on the verge of leaving the club.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich target Khedira could be set to stay in the Spanish capital this summer, despite being linked with a move for several months.
Meanwhile, Di Maria has said goodbye to his teammates ahead of his move to Manchester United, and is likely to complete his record-breaking switch early next week.
German World Cup winner Khedira, 27, is in the final year of his contract with the European champions, and has reportedly refused to sign a new deal. However, Ancelotti has reiterated that the player will not be leaving this month.
He said: “Khedira is happy here and he is staying,’ added Ancelotti. ‘The matter is resolved and he stays at Real Madrid.”
When asked about Di Maria, he added: “‘Di Maria has said goodbye. We thanked him for everything he has done for the club. We tried everything possible to keep Di Maria, but he has decided something else. Good luck to him.”
The source adds that Di Maria, who will wear Manchester United’s iconic No 7 shirt, is expected to earn in the region of £200,000-a-week at Old Trafford.
