The Sunderland manager is desperate to add some attacking players to his squad before the transfer window closes.
Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has refused to confirm reports that he is looking to sign Lille striker Solomon Kalou.
Poyet is hoping to add some attacking players to his squad and has reportedly turned his attentions to Kalou after being frustrated in his pursuit of Liverpool striker Fabio Borini.
The Italian, who was on loan at Sunderland last season, is happy to come on loan to the Stadium of Light for another season but is reluctant to join the black cats on a permanent deal.
Goal.com reports that Kalou has held talks with Sunderland in recent days but when quizzed on the links with Kalou, Poyet refused to discuss the situation and bemoaned how his transfer dealings are routinely leaked to the press.
“I am going to have to do research at this football club into who is leaking information every week. It cannot be always the player’s agent,” the Uruguayan boss said.
“A few agents, OK, you can blame them, but there is too much information coming out and I don’t like it.
“I am not going to comment on any players, sorry.”
Kalou spent six years playing for Chelsea before he moved to Lille on a free transfer in 2012.
