The 28 year old Colombian had been the subject of interest from Real Madrid but the La Liga side have now reportedly pulled out of the race for the goal machine, leaving Arsene Wenger in the driving seat to bring in the former FC Porto and Atletico Madrid man to boost his Gunners attack.
Falcao has apparently been made available on a season long loan deal, which would cost a fee of £20m, and given that French international Olivier Giroud is out until next year one imagines such a move is entirely plausible.
Without Giroud the north London side has to rely upon new signing Alexis Sanchez to deliver the goods with Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott still to feature this season having not achieved full fitness. Arsene Wenger can also call upon youngsters Yaya Sanogo and Joel Campbell but neither has much in the way of Premier League experience, hence the possibility of a move for Falcao.
Since moving to Europe in July 2009 Radamel Falcao has racked up an astonishing 155 goals in 200 appearances in Portugal, Spain and France.
