Valencia have confirmed the signing of Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo on a season long loan with a post on their official website.
The Spain international striker enjoyed a superb first half of the season at the Etihad Stadium club, but his form drastically tailed off as the campaign reached its climax.
With Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko excellent goal threats, and Stevan Jovetic coming good for Man City already this term after a season disrupted by injury in 2013-14, Negredo has fallen down the pecking order, and Manuel Pellegrini is happy with the options he has.
The Spaniard scored 23 goals in 49 games for Manchester City in the Premier League and Capital One Cup, and was instrumental in the club’s early form.
Negredo, who is 29 years of age, joins Valencia until May, with a compulsory option to purchase at the end of his loan.
He will be presented at 20:00 CET at the Mestalla Stadium.
