The 21 year old scored on his competitive national team debut on Monday night as Spain thumped Macedonia 5-1 and is now seemingly a player on the radar of many of Europe’s ‘Elite’ with Arsenal also said to be keen.

Alcacer has represented Valencia since the age of 12 but would find it hard not to be tempted by a move to Stamford Bridge, it’s tough to turn down Jose Mourinho, and the Blues boss may feel he could do with another striking option.

Chelsea allowed Samuel Eto’o to leave over the summer and cashed in on Demba Ba whilst Fernando Torres was sent to AC Milan on loan.

Conversely the west London side paid £32m for Diego Costa, who has made an instant impact, and welcomed back fan favourite Didier Drogba and QPR’s Loic Remy.

Given Drogba’s age Alcacer may be deemed a more fitting long term option and the speedy striker certainly has the potential to make a name for himself.

Alcacer scored 14 goals in all competitions for Valencia last term and played a key role in the Mestalla side’s match to the Europa League semi-finals.
