Blues hit man could have made summer Anfield move.
Chelsea striker Diego Costa has started off the season well at Stamford Bridge this season, but things could have been very different had he signed for Liverpool over the summer, according to the Daily Star.

The Reds were desperate to bring the Brazilian-born striker to Anfield at the start of last season and the club even lodged a £21m offer for the Atletico man after he impressed manager Brendan Rodgers.
Costa scored 10 goals in La Liga the previous season and the Reds’ move was seen as a something of a surprise, especially with Luis Suarez already on the books.
And Rodgers’ interest was justified after he bagged a further 35 goals for the Spanish giants as they marched on to an unprecedented La Liga title last term.
And Costa revealed that a move to Liverpool was on the cards only to see it fall through as he was not willing to leave the Vicente Calderon at the time.
He said: “I was close to leaving, Liverpool are a great team.
“But after fighting so hard and overcoming difficulties to get my place at Atletico, how could I leave?
“I thought it was very important to keep growing at the Colchoneros [Atletico Madrid], and play here for many years.”
