1) Wenger is past it and needs to go
This is by far the most popular knee-jerk reaction from Arsenal fans, although to be fair calling for the sacking of a manager is certainly not exclusive to the North London club. Arsene Wenger has done wonders for the club, and to think that any other manager could have done better on the shoe string budget he has been working with is a bit of a fairy tale. The French manager is certainly not infallible, and his stubbornness when it comes to substitutions or playing players out of position is understandably frustrating. But let’s not forget that Arsenal are currently unbeaten at home in 20 league games, winners of the FA Cup and the Community shield in recent months, and are still able to attract some of the world’s biggest stars; all in large part thanks to Arsene Wenger.
