The Blues are on the cusp of bringing a prodigal Romanian defender to Stamford Bridge…
Chelsea are closing in a £2.3m deal to sign teenager fullback Manea Cristian, reports Romanian publication Dolce Sport.
The 17-year-old currently stars for his local side Viitorul, where he has featured in six of their opening seven games of the Romanian season.
The defender broke into the side at the end of last term, and is now regarded as one of the most talented teenagers in his country.
He’s been so impressive in fact, Chelsea’s scouts have encouraged their club to shell out the necessary cash to secure his services.
Cristian is expected to sign a long-term professional contract with Jose Mourinho’s team, before moving to either Malaga or Vitesse on loan in January, where he will join up with a number of other Chelsea loanees.
The Blues currently have 26 players out on loan, and as a result, Cristian will have an extremely difficult time ever forcing his way into Mourinho’s plans, should the expected transfer finalise.
