8. Dom Dwyer – Sporting Kansas City (USA)
Born in Sussex, Dwyer spent his youth career at Norwich City and then King’s Lynn, where he suffered multiple foot injuries.
He was given the chance to the revive his career at Tyler Junior College in Texas, where he won two National Championships and was named the National Junior College Player of the Year, after bagging 37 goals as a sophomore.
After two years in Texas, he moved to the University of South Florida, before becoming a professional with Sporting Kansas City in 2012.
He is currently the second leading scorer in this season’s MLS with 19 goals.
