Podolski sends out his love to Pires, who is set for India.

Arsenal star Lukas Podolski has sent Robert Pires an emotional good luck message as the former France international prepares to restart his football career.

Pires, who won two Premier Leagues and three FA Cups during his Gunners career, has been training with Arsene Wenger’s men recently.

The 40-year-old has not played professionally since 2011.

However, he has signed for FC Goa, who will feature in the inaugural Indian Super League, which starts on October 12.

Podolski uploaded the below image to Instagram on Friday, along with the message: “My favourite Frenchman Pires and I – I enjoyed every moment at Arsenal with you, you will be missed pal!!!
