Liverpool looking to spend big in January to deal with void left by Luis Suarez.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, along with those that occupy the corridors of power at Anfield, have drawn up a three-man shortlist of world class attacking stars as the Reds look to truly fill the void left by the summer departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
Despite signing Mario Balotelli this summer, a recent injury to Daniel Sturridge has highlighted the lack of quality depth in the Liverpool frontline, something that Rodgers is looking to address with one of these three:
Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, after the France international received a barrage of criticism from Real supports after his slow start to the season, which contributed to a lackluster couple of weeks from Carlo Ancelotti’s side. The report suggests that Liverpool are lining up a £40 million move to try and secure the signature of Benzema, but the fact that he recently signed a new deal in Madrid, coupled with Liverpool’s UEFA investigation over a potential breach of Financial Fair Play regulations, could scupper the deal.
