Villa Park side up for sale.
Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner is ready to sell the club he took over eight years ago according to the Daily Telegraph.
The American had hoped to garner £200m from the sale of the Villa Park outfit but has now readjusted his assessment and will accept as little as £100m, this despite the club’s relatively encouraging start to the Premier League campaign.
Villa are seemingly a better proposition than when Lerner took the helm in 2006, the club’s stadium having been upgraded and their wage bill slashed of late and with manager Paul Lambert tied down to a long term deal.
Indeed Aston Villa have also appointed a new, highly-rated chief executive, Tom Fox.
Aston Villa currently sit in sixth spot in the Premier League table, with ten points garnered from their opening six fixtures.
