The youngster has been in sensational form for Liverpool this year and following Luis Suarez’s move to Barcelona, it could be argued that the 19 year old is the Reds most important player.

The form that Sterling has shown has led to interest from some of Europe’s top clubs, most notably Real Madrid, who are known to target the most talented attacking players in the world.

To ward off interest from the Santiago Bernabeu side, Brendan Rodgers is willing to triple the England international’s contract and make him one of the highest earners at Anfield even though the youngster still has three years left to run on his current deal.

Sterling has played in every game for both Liverpool and England so far this season and Rodgers has already voiced his concerns about the fitness of his prized asset, who is becoming increasingly important for the 18 time league champions.
