Madrid ace acknowledges the banner the flew over his side’s clash with Villarreal.
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has given his reaction to the sight of a plane with a message asking him to return to Manchester United in the new year, but has seemingly distanced himself from a move back to Old Trafford, the Gazzetta Dello Sport reports.
Several Man United fans got together to hire another small plane to fly over Madrid’s clash with Villarreal with a massage prompting him to return to his old side after rumours that he had become unsettled in the Spanish capital began to circulate.
The Portuguese ace was linked with a move back to United over the summer, with a talk of another attempt to bring him back in the new year. However, though he retains an affection for the club he has put distance between himself and the talk of going back in the new year.
“I always said that I have a family at Manchester but I’m good in Madrid,” he said.
“I’m glad of the affection that United fans have for me, it means that I have left good memories.”
United fans should not be discouraged by this, though, as it hardly constitutes a ‘no’, and he cannot very well admit to courting the club with several months remaining before the transfer window opens.
