Reds keen to snap up free agent and two more this January.
Liverpool are set to hold talks with former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes over a possible free transfer to the club, according to the Daily Express.
The Reds are on the lookout for a replacement for current number one Simon Mignolet, who has not managed to impress Brendan Rodgers with hsi recent performances between the sticks.
Valdes could make a superb addition to the club on a free, with the experienced Spaniard having shown himself to be one of Europe’s top keepers during his highly successful career at the Nou Camp.
A recent injury has held up Valdes’ efforts to find a new club, but it is now thought that Liverpool are ready to take him on trial with the view to concluding a permanent deal if he can sufficiently prove his fitness.
Elsewhere, it is also reported that the Reds are preparing moves for more attackinng players in the January transfer window, with Real Madrid playmaker Isco on Rodgers’ agenda, as well as highly-rated young Lazio forward Keita Balde Diao.
This would follow on from a heavy summer of spending from the Merseyside giants, who had plenty of funds after selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona for £75m.
