The Portuguese star has thrived during his time with Los Blancos, scoring a phenomenal 269 goals in just 257 games.

Despite his amazing form with the Spanish giants, reports have suggested that Ronaldo would like to return to Old Trafford while several current United players have urged him to come back to the 20 time league champions including goalkeeper David De Gea.

With reports suggesting a move may happen next summer, Bale has decided to step in and persuade the 29-year-old to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“He’s obviously a player we wouldn’t want to see leave,” Bale told reporters on Wednesday. “Of course I want to see him stay at Real Madrid.

“He’s shown what a world-class player he is year after year scoring the goals he has.”

The Welshman had an excellent first season with Real Madrid, scoring 22 goals but his form has dropped during this campaign, leading to a poll which suggests that 60% of fans want him dropped from the side.

When asked if his poor form could mean he seeks a move away from the Spanish capital, Bale replied: “I signed a six-year deal last year. so I don’t really think so.”
