Stamford Bridge side keeping tabs on Marseille youngster.
Chelsea have set their sights firmly on highly rated Marseille midfielder Gilbert Imbula according to Le10Sport.
The Blues had scouts in attendance as Marseille collected their eighth win in 10 Ligue 1 matches at home to Toulouse, helping Marcelo Bielsa’s side to secure a seven point lead at the top of the table.
Imbula has been an ever present this season and is on the fringes of the senior French national team set-up and a strong midfield talent who has clearly garnered Jose Mourinho’s attention.
Mourinho has a vast number of top young talents in his extensive Stamford Bridge squad but may well feel that Imbula is a talent of sufficient quality to make a move nonetheless.
Though Nemanja Matic has been in fine form this term there are perhaps questions about the long term Chelsea futures of Ramires, John Obi Mikel and loaned out Spaniard Oriol Romeu, the departure of any of these three perhaps leading to room being made for a player such as Imbula.
