The English winger’s agent has confirmed that several clubs would be interested in his player.
Arsenal player Theo Walcott’s agent has confirmed interest in his client from Italian side Fiorentina, but has insisted that a move to the club would be “almost impossible.”
The surprise links between Walcott and Fiorentina emerged in the week, and while the winger’s agent Colin Gordon insisted a move was unlikely, he was careful not to rule it out entirely.
“Theo is of interest to many clubs and that probably includes Fiorentina,” Football Italia quote the agent as saying. “But I don’t think there’s much chance of seeing Walcott in Florence.”
He also explained what most people had already suspected: Walcott would simply be too expensive for Fiorentina to afford. However, he was careful to talk up interest in his client, and praise Fiorentina’s directors.
Walcott is on the verge of returning from a long term injury, and may make a return this weekend. He appeared as a substitute against Burnley last week, and has been picked in the current England squad.
Walcott insisted in the week that he had lost none of his legendary pace in his long layoff, and a front three composed of the Englishman alongside new signings Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck will have frightening speed.
