Blues to make tempting offer to Dortmund star.
Chelsea are said to be preparing a deal to make Marco Reus one of the club’s top earners with a contract of £153,000-per-week to fend off interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United, according to the Daily Star.
Jose Mourinho has reportedly told Reus’ agent Volker Struth that he wants to sign the Borussia Dortmund forward in the summer.
But the Blues face some serious competition for his services with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Man United, Barcelona and Real Madrid all said to be monitoring the situation very closely.
And reports in Europe are now claiming that Chelsea will try to tempt him with an £8m-per-year deal – which would bring him close to what captain John Terry currently earns.
Terry, who is in his 17th senior campaign, signed a one-year deal worth £175,000 to stay at the club in the summer.
His exit from Dortmund has been facilitated by their worrying form this season that currently has them sitting in a lowly 15th place in the Bundesliga table.
