Argentine ace was open to joining Parisian money bags.
Manchester United midfielder Angel Di Maria has dropped a hint that he regrets not taking the opportunity to join Paris Saint Germain last summer by saying joining them would have been ‘great’, according to the Metro.
Di Maria looked certain to move to the French club at the end of last season, with PSG in advanced negotiations with Real Madrid to sign him.
The deal looked as though it was such a certainty, that the Ligue 1 champions even started selling shirts with the player’s name on in their club shop, only to see the deal fall through at the last minute before he eventually joined United.
And Di Maria has subtly hinted that he holds a regret at not making the transfer to PSG in an exclusive interview with French broadcaster Telefoot.
“I have no regrets about leaving the Real Madrid,” he said.
“Paris, it would have been a great experience. It would please a lot of players to play at a French club.”
