Juve new favouries to land Gunners target.
Juventus have been linked with a £32m bid to sign exciting Porto youngster Juan Fernando Quintero, according to Portuguese source Record.
The talented 21-year-old is regarded as one of South American football’s brightest prospects for the future, and was strongly linked with a move to Arsenal during the summer, though this never materialised.
It may now be that the skillful Colombian’s impressive performances will earn him a big-money move to a top European club, with Juventus now leading the race for his signature ahead of the January transfer window.
Quintero no doubt has the talent to succeed at the top level, having shown plenty of promise for Porto and the Colombian national team, and he could make a smart signing for the Italian giants if they can get hold of him this winter.
£32m might seem a lot to pay for a relatively inexperienced player, but Quintero’s performances have seen him called the Colombian Lionel Messi, and it may be that he will forge a successful career in the game.
Arsenal look to have switched their focus to other targets for January, with Arsene Wenger’s side short of options in defence and midfield rather than in the attacking roles.
