Almost 100 Ajax fans have been arrested in the French capital today, on suspicion of of intent to commit football violence, reports the Irish Times.

95 of the travelling Dutch, wearing ski masks and armed with iron bars, were taken into custody ahead of Ajax’s clash with PSG this evening.

Only fans with tickets were allowed to travel to France, but many of the 95 did not have a ticket for the game, as only 850 were allocated to away supporters due to worries about clashes between French and Dutch supporters.

“There is a strong rivalry between French and Dutch hooligans,” the Dutch ministry in Paris said.
