Germany international knows where the goal is.
If there was ever a wake up call delivered to Arsene Wenger telling him to play Lukas Podolski more this is it, as new stats show he is Arsenal’s most clinical finisher to have played over 50 games for the club.
According to a statistic produced by Sky Sports, the World Cup winner has netted once every 169 minutes on average for the north London outfit in over 50 Premier League games.
His prowess in front of goal even beats that of last season’s virtual ever present Olivier Giroud of one goal for every 189 minutes of Premier League action.
And, of course, it goes without saying that his record outshines that of Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott.
But despite his impressive numbers, the 29-year-old has struggled to get off the bench this season, with summer signing Alexis Sanchez currently placed at the summit of the club’s scoring charts.
