Veteran has already made an impact in second Stamford Bridge spell.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho appears open to extending Didier Drogba’s current contract beyond the end of the season according to the Metro.
The 36 year old has been a very useful back-up option to first team regular Diego Costa and Mourinho would be happy to keep hold of the Ivory Coast international,
‘My personal story is that he’s still a very good player and if he wants my advice in the future, he should stop when he wants, when he feels – not be waiting for me or the club to decide,’ he said.
‘We love him, we want him, he’s a great player. He should stop when he wants. After that I know Mr Abramovich is very happy to keep him in the club in every area where we feel and he feels, is useful and happy.
‘But that’s after he makes the decision of stopping, which I don’t think is tomorrow.’
Drogba has netted five times in all competitions this season and would no doubt be keen on extending his spell at the west London side.
