Caught Offside’s player ratings for Manchester United against Liverpool:
GK) David de Gea – 9.0
Outstanding performance from the shot-stopper yet again. He ensured the clean sheet and made a number of vital saves against Raheem Sterling and Mario Balotelli in particular.
CB) Jonny Evans – 6.0
Solid for the most part, but slightly rusty looking.
CB) Michael Carrick – 8.0
Commanding and reliable in defence, he and de Gea have been the main reason for the defensive stability.
CB) Phil Jones – 6.5
A decent performance, although it may take him a while to find his form again after returning from injury.
