Tottenham Hotspur will be aiming for a third win in six days this afternoon when they take on Burnley at White Hart Lane.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be high on confidence, having pinched a 2-1 win at Swansea City last weekend, before thrashing Newcastle United 4-0 in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night.

Here’s the XI we expect Pochettino to start with against the Clarets:

GK: Hugo Lloris

Rested against Newcastle to give Michel Vorm some game time, but the Frenchman has not missed a Premier League game all season, so he’ll be back.

RB: Kyle Walker

Having not played a senior game since March due to injury, Walker featured in two games in four days last week. As a result, he was rightly given Wednesday night off, but he will almost definitely start against Burnley – making his long-awaited return to White Hart Lane.

LB: Ben Davies

Davies was another player who was given a rest against Newcastle, with Danny Rose coming in. Rose did OK, but Davies should start this one.

CBs: Jan Vertonghen and Federico Fazio

After a very unsettled start to Pochettino’s Spurs reign, it seems that the Argentine is finally beginning to understand what his best team is. Vertonghen and Fazio have formed a decent partnership at centre-half, so they should pair up for a third consecutive game.
