Liverpool have struggled for goals in all competitions so far this season…

Summer signings Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have netted just four goals between them, only two of which have come in the league, while returning loanee Fabio Borini has yet to register.

Speaking about former AC Milan and Manchester City man Balotelli, BBC Sport pundit Robbie Savage said: “[Brendan] Rodgers gambled when he signed him and it has not paid off. I would sell him in January to raise some funds and try to buy two more centre-forwards.”

But who is available for the Liverpool boss? Here are ten candidates he could look to sign in the January transfer window:

10) Fernando Torres (Chelsea / AC Milan)

AC Milan have been forced to play down reports linking their on loan striker with a famous return to Anfield. The Spanish striker scored 81 goals in 142 games for the Reds, but has struggled since leaving for Chelsea in 2011, and has faired little better since his switch to Italy.
