Chelsea Skipper John Terry Calls On His Teammates To Be More Arrogant

Terry has been influential in helping the west London outfit stay at the top of the Premier League table until the halfway point of the campaign, but he feels that a change in mentality will ultimately keep them there.

“We are top of the league and everyone wants to beat us or upset us,” he said.

“It’s about putting a good run together now. We are playing some really good football and it’s important we maintain the way we’re playing and the mentality we are playing with as well: a kind of quiet arrogance.”

Terry also praised his side for fighting back against Southampton on Sunday in a game that saw them snatch a point after going behind in the first half.

“We were a lot sharper in the second half,” he added.

“We know we’re playing well but teams out there are making it tough for us.”
