Anfield forward on Foxes wish-list.
Relegation threatened Leicester City have earmarked moves to strengthen their attack and boss Nigel Pearson is said to be interested in Liverpool forward Rickie Lambert according to the Daily Mail.
The Foxes sit bottom of the Premier League table and could do with an injection of quality up front and as well as pursuing Lambert they are chasing Burnley’s Danny Ings.
Brendan Rodgers brought in Lambert over the summer in a £4m deal but it’s fair to say that the England man has failed to replicate his Southampton form at Anfield.
The 32 year old has netted just twice in 20 appearances in all competitions and a move to Leicester City may lead to more regular action but it’s not a deal that seems likely to succeed in January as Rodgers won’t be keen on reducing his attacking options unless new additions arrive.
Leicester City are certainly in danger of an instant return to the Championship though Pearson’s side did manage to secure their first win in 14 Premier League fixtures on Sunday with a narrow win over fellow strugglers Hull City.
