Juve the latest side to join striker chase.
Juventus are the latest side to show an interest in signing Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli after hints from the club’s manager Massimiliano Allegri.
According to Tuttosport, the Italian international has caught Juve’s eye this season as he looks like leaving Anfield already this January after a poor run of form in a Liverpool shirt.
The 24-year-old was a £16m signing from AC Milan in the summer but is yet to score in the Premier League and has just two goals to his name in all competitions this season.
Still, Balotelli was prolific in Serie A and has impressed under Allegri before, with the Italian tactician working with the player until his sacking by Milan midway through last season.
Juve already have plenty of quality options in their attack, including Balotelli’s former Manchester City team-mate Carlos Tevez, but Allegri has hinted that he could be open to adding the Liverpool flop to his options upfront.
“I’ve had him with me [at AC Milan] and he had a very good season,” he said. “Mario has built a character out of the world of football which attracts most of the attention. But he has excellent quality, although he must prove it.
“Would I love to have him back? I like to have better players.”
