Could Moussa Sissoko be heading to the Emirates Stadium?
Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been one of the Premier League’s most impressive performers so far this season, leading to the French international being linked with a number of bigger clubs, but the former Toulouse man has indicated that it is Arsenal who are the club of Sissoko’s heart, according to the Mail.
Sissoko was once again excellent as Newcastle were somewhat unfortunate to lose 2-0 to Chelsea on Saturday afternoon under caretaker manager John Carver, as he hit the post, putting in another performance that could persuade Wenger that Sissoko would be the right man for the Emirates Stadium.
Speaking for an interview in his native France, Sissoko suggested that he was focused on Newcastle and continuing his fine form for the Magpies, but he also indicated very clearly that a move to Arsenal would interest him and that it is the Gunners that are the club he would most like to play for:
“England remains my priority. If Arsene Wenger calls me? We will have a discussion man to man. Arsenal has always been the club of my heart.”
Signed from Toulouse by the combination of former manager Alan Pardew and chief scout Remi Garde, Sissoko has taken on the mantle of the club’s driving force and most creative player since the departure of Yohan Cabaye to Paris Saint Germain twelve months ago.
