The Eagles are trying to pip Arsene Wenger…
Crystal Palace are attempting to sign Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis, according to the Times.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal by the Daily Express in the last week, and now it seems that the Eagles are going to try and beat their London rivals to the player’s signature.
Alan Pardew’s side will have to stump up around £8 million for the Frenchman according to this source, who the Swans signed on a free transfer in the summer window.
Gomis is also said to want a wage hike if he is to join the relegation fighters.
He is currently on £55,000 a week, but is aiming for at least £70,000.
With this in mind such a deal could prove costly for Palace, if indeed it were to go through.
