And Wenger believes the 23-year-old has benefited from his time with the South London side and has made giant strides towards improvement.
“I saw that he made huge improvements in training so I sent him on loan for match practice.
“He took that challenge and he’s done very well.
Wenger then went on to confirm that the player’s future will be secured very soon by concluding: “I am confident a new deal will be sorted for Coquelin.
“He is a long-term solution.”
