Gunners could sign Dortmund man on the cheap.
Arsenal have reportedly submitted a £3.7m bid to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Kevin Grosskreutz, according to the Metro.
The German utility man is said to be a boyhood Gunners supporter, and could now be on his way to the Emirates Stadium this month as Arsene Wenger eyes cover for a number of positions.
Grosskreutz can play defensive midfield, out wide on either flank, and even right-back, and would no doubt be a useful addition to Arsenal’s injury-hit squad this season.
Although not always a regular for Jurgen Klopp’s side, the 26-year-old is an experienced and reliable player who would represent a good piece of business for Arsenal on the cheap as they look to solve what has become a problem position for them in recent times.
It remains to be seen if this bid will prove enough to persuade Dortmund to sell the player, who has been with the club since 2009 and who has five caps for the German national team.
