This has put a couple of other clubs on alert. Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina have both registered an interested, and David Moyes’ Real Sociedad have also been linked to the Egyptian by the Daily Mail. The former Basel man has only made five appearances this season, which is why he is looking for more regular football elsewhere.

Apparently the transfer has slowed despite the midfielder agreeing a deal with the Serie A side. The youngster is still in two minds despite having spoken to former Stamford Bridge legend Ashley Cole, who is already at the Italian club.

Perhaps more importantly for the Blues is the fact that this could also put their move for Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado in doubt. They need to offload the 22-year-old before they complete any deal for the Columbian can go through. With the 26-year-old seemingly a major target, they will want to rush through Salah’s deal so that they are able to complete their business.
