Although unconfirmed, it is believed West Ham United and Southampton were among the English sides monitoring the situation, while David Moyes’ Real Sociedad were one of the interested Spanish parties.
Rosicky joined the Gunners in 2006 in a big money deal from Borussia Dortmund, and he has gone on to make 162 appearances for the club. He has also made 99 caps and scored 22 goals for his national side since making his debut in 2000 at the age of 19.
