Reds to move for Ligue 1 striker also wanted by Gunners.
Liverpool are reportedly lining up a late move to sign Marseille striker and Arsenal target Andre-Pierre Gignac, according to the Daily Star.
The Reds are looking to offload squad player Rickie Lambert and bring in a player who can become first choice, and Gignac has emerged as one of Brendan Rodgers’ top targets.
The Frenchman has been highly prolific in Ligue 1 this season, scoring 14 goals in 23 appearances, and has also attracted interest from Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
Still, with Arsenal perhaps cooling their interest in the player, Liverpool now look the favourites to snap him up before the transfer deadline tonight.
