The Reds to spend big in the summer…
Liverpool are monitoring three of Serie A’s biggest stars and are prepared to offer £75.9m for the trio at the end of the season, according to the Metro.
Having made no major signings in January and with the departure of legend Steven Gerrard to come, boss Brendan Rodgers is expected to have a large transfer budget at his disposal, and wants to spend it on Roma pair Miralem Pjanic and Radja Nainggolan, as well as Lazio’s Keita Balde Diao.
The Roma duo would be a particular midfield pair that would aid towards Reds fans getting over the loss of their skipper, with both showing an eye for goal.
Pjanic is valued at £25m by the Italian outfit, while Nainggolan would cost £25.9m.
Lazio striker Diao was the subject of a Liverpool bid last summer, and it seems their interest remains, with the 19-year-old considered one of the hottest prospects in Europe – but would cost a sizeable £25m.
This would be a spectacular amount of money to spend on three Serie A stars, and while it would be exciting, it does seem a little farfetched.
