The Real Sociedad boss is thought to be turning his interests elsewhere after Danny Ings has decided against moving to San Sebastien following a trip to Spain last week to discuss a pre-contract agreement, as his Burnley deal is up at the end of the season.

Oviedo has been used sparingly this season by current Toffees manager Roberto Martinez following his return from a broken leg sustained last season at Stevenage in the FA Cup, making just 11 appearances.

Everton have struggled to recreate the impressive form they showed last season, which saw them challenge for a Champions League place, sitting in 12th place only six points off the relegation zone.
