Blues boss desperate to land prolific youngster.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is said to be pushing for his board to fund a move for him to sign Inter Milan’s striking sensation Mauro Icardi, according to the Daily Mail.
The promising young Argentine has 16 goals in all competitions for the Serie A giants this season, establishing himself as one of the top young players in Europe.
Manchester United and Liverpool have also shown an interest in the 22-year-old on occasion, but Mourinho is hoping his side can beat off competition for his signature.
Icardi has recently been in talks over a new contract which could include a buy-out clause of £29m.
