Spurs keen to bring Belgian international on board.
Tottenham are said to be lining up a £10m summer move for Southampton’s on loan centre-back Toby Alderweireld, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Spurs are on the hunt for a new defender after missing out on a free deal for West Ham’s Winston Reid, who committed his future to the east London club for another six-and-a-half years this week.
Alderweireld is currently making waves at St Mary’s this term, having joined from Atletico Madrid on a season long loan.
The Saints can strike a permanent deal for the 26-year-old for just £6.8m at the end of the campaign, though Atletico can buy to scrap that clause for a meagre £1.5m.
And with Spurs joining the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City in their interest, the La Liga champions may well decide to open up the floor for a bidding war.
