Alain Casanova is concerned about how the 6-1 defeat will affect Le TFC come the season’s end.
Under-pressure Toulouse coach Alain Casanova has admitted that he is concerned about what his side’s 6-1 defeat to Olympique Marseille may mean for Le TFC’S goal difference come the end of the season.
Toulouse were smashed by OM on Friday night, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side delivering an electric display to smash the relegation strugglers. The defeat keeps the South-West club in the bottom three, having picked up only 29 points from 28 matches to date.
“Two things are painful,” began Casanova, speaking to Toulouse’s official website after the match, “the mentality and confidence, but it was also a very bad night for our goal difference.
“It was a very bed night because it’s essentially one point lost. We need to get this match out of our system as quickly as possible, because we have a very important match next week against Lens who also need points.
“It is a match that will be very important for the future.”
Toulouse travel to Lens’s Felix Bollaert Stadium in Ligue 1 on Saturday evening.
