CR7 promises media blackout following poor Real Madrid performance.

Cristiano Ronaldo may have become the all time European club competition goalscorer with his brace against German side Schalke on Tuesday night, but Real Madrid’s lacklustre performance has left him promising to not speak publicly again until the end of the season, the Daily Mail reports.

Real eked their way past the Bundesliga side but Ronaldo, along with Gareth Bale, Carlo Ancelotti and Iker Casillas were all targeted by angry Madridistas.

And in response to the reaction he received, the 30-year-old said: “I wont talk again until the end of the season.”

Coach Ancelotti attempted to defend his megastar as he felt the rest of the squad were not able to match a similar level.

“He scored two very important goals but the rest were not at his level,” he said.

Ronaldo bagged two goals to reach a total of 78 strikes in European club competition, making him the highest in the history of the competition, but that didn’t stop the crowd from booing and whistling as he exited the pitch.
