The Club of the Principality face a tricky home tie against SC Bastia on Friday evening.
AS Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim is eyeing Friday evening’s match against SC Bastia as a good opportunity to close the gap on the three sides ahead of them in Ligue 1.
Having bested Evian 3-1 away last weekend, Monaco will face the much sterner test of Bastia on Friday evening.
With third-place Olympique Marseille facing league leaders Olympique Lyonnais at the Stade Velodrome on Sunday, this weekend is a good opportunity for fourth-place Monaco to close the six-point gap between themselves and the top three.
“We know Bastia well,” began Jardim, as reported by Monaco’s official website, “we have already played against them twice this season. We mustn’t take our foot off the gas.
“What’s important is the team, not the individual players. That’s what interests me.
“We will do everything to win against Bastia,” he concluded, “we need to collect points in order to get closer to the podium.”
